Before you hit publish on any new blog post, service page, or e-commerce product page, run it through this ultimate 10-point Quality Assurance checklist.
Short Summary
SEO is not about discovering a magical hack that instantly ranks you #1. It's about doing 100 little things 1% better than your competitors. Consistently executing this checklist ensures you never publish a page handicapped by amateur technical errors or missed semantic opportunities.
The Publishing QA Workflow
The Ultimate 10-Point Checklist
Meta Data & URLs
- 1. Title Tag Optimization: Is it strictly between 50-60 characters? Is the primary target keyword front-loaded? Does it have a CTR-boosting hook?
- 2. Meta Description: Is it under 155 characters? Does it state the problem, solution, and include a clear Call-to-Action?
- 3. URL Slug Anatomy: Is the URL short, descriptive, hyphenated, and lower-case? (e.g.,
/on-page-seo-checklist, NOT/post-id-491?category=seo)
Content, Intent & Structure
- 4. Semantic H1 Tag: Is there exactly one
<h1>tag on the page, and does it clearly state the core entity/topic? - 5. Logical Subheadings (H2/H3): Is the text broken up logically using H2s and H3s without skipping hierarchy levels? Are they entity-rich rather than generic?
- 6. Search Intent Alignment: Does the format of this page (listicle, how-to, product page) strictly match the intent of the current top 3 Google results?
- 7. Information Gain & LSI: Have you added unique value not found elsewhere? Are related NLP entities and semantic keywords naturally woven into the body copy?
Media, Linking & Tech
- 8. Next-Gen Image Optimization: Are all images compressed (target < 100KB), formatted as WebP/AVIF, and equipped with highly descriptive Alt Text?
- 9. Internal Links (Outbound): Does this new page link out to at least 3-5 other highly relevant, authoritative pages within your own website to distribute PageRank?
- 10. Internal Links (Inbound): Crucial step: Have you gone back to older, top-performing posts on your site and added links pointing to this brand new page so Google crawlers can find it immediately?
If you can confidently check all 10 boxes, your page is structurally perfect, highly optimized, and ready to dominate the modern SERPs!
